Expansion of Recalor chamber and flue gas distribution network

The project aims to reduce electricity consumption during the production of the MDF board by intervening in the hot gas transport systems used in the drying process. In particular, the following measures are proposed for the reduction of pressure drops in the flue gas transport routes in the Recalor combustion chamber:

1) Modifications to the chamber itself to reduce its pressure drop;
2) Manufacture of a new gas duct from the chamber to the plenum;
3) Replacement of fans;
4) Regulation of the flow rate of the hot balance gas generating element via a variable-speed drive.

Results in terms of energy savings and efficiency:

•Energy savings of 1,295,000 kWh/year
•Reduction of CO2 emissions equivalent to 389 t CO2/year
