Natural finishes for a 5-star hotel? Bet everything on wood textures
A.R.S. Concept & Design chose textured surfaces and veneer to create a natural-chic ambiance in the rooms and suites of this hotel in Mallorca

High-end hospitality always presents a challenge. Even more so when it is located in a privileged area, as is the case with the nearly 3,000 hectares of S'Albufera Natural Park on the island of Mallorca. There lies the Hotel Grupotel Parc Natural & Spa, characterized by its five-star category and its harmony with the environment. This almost biophilic harmony was preserved in the renovation of rooms and suites carried out in 2023 by A.R.S. Concept & Design through a careful selection of materials.
Headboards, bedside tables, desks, wardrobes, and room doors are clad in a range of natural veneer and textured finishes from the Fimanatur, Fibranatur, Fibrapan, and Fimaplast ranges. For Rafa Ardrover, the interior designer, the key to this project was the use of these solutions, which allowed them to "connect with the environment of the natural park, while also providing elegance and contemporary balance."
"The basic quality is demonstrated in the textured wood veneer of the bed headboard, which is enhanced with side indirect lighting," specifies Ardrover. He emphasizes that a five-star hospitality establishment required the application of products that were as natural as possible, so as not to break that connection with the S'Albufera park.
The concept of this renovation aimed for a natural-chic ambiance, "with classic touches, but with contemporary lines that provide elegance and balance," summarizes Ardrover. Attention to detail, textures, textiles, lighting, and finishes helped achieve this distinctive atmosphere that provides an extra level of comfort and design.

“La cualidad básica se muestra en el texturizado de chapa de madera del cabecero de cama, que se realza con una iluminación indirecta lateral”, concreta Ardrover. Destaca que un hospitality de cinco estrellas requería aplicar productos lo más naturales posibles, para así tampoco romper esa conexión con el parque de S’Albufera.
El concepto de esta reforma persiguió un ambiente natural-chic, “con toques clásicos, pero con líneas contemporáneas que aportasen elegancia y equilibrio”, sintetiza Ardrover. El cuidado en los detalles, las texturas, textiles, iluminación y acabados ayudaron a conseguir esta atmósfera distintiva que proporciona un plus en confort y diseño.
