Two National Design Awards in our proposal for Madrid Design Festival 2025

We are participating in the Madrid Design Festival for the seventh consecutive year through the Suricata Party exhibition, the provision of material for exhibitions and workshops, a connection programme between companies, the Community of Madrid and designers and through a talk in the programme for professionals Madrid Design PRO.

This year, our participation in the Madrid Design Festival includes two National Design Awards: the creative Inma Bermúdez (whom we interviewed in Connections by Finsa, our magazine for professionals) and Sancal, a Spanish furniture manufacturer. But there is much more. We will be showcasing a total of five proposals that vindicate our connection with design: innovative workplace equipment, material for an exhibition in which architect Izaskun Chinchilla will take part, a workshop led by basket maker Idoia Cuesta , a collaboration programme between companies, designers and the Community of Madrid, and a talk on the challenges and opportunities of collaboration between manufacturers and creative profiles within the professional programme Madrid Design PRO.

SURICATA PARTY, THE CREATIVE CONNECTION WITH TWO NATIONAL DESIGN AWARDS

Suricata Party is an exhibition of modular equipment in which Finsa collaborates with two National Design Award winners: the designer Inma Bermúdez (obtained in 2022 in the Professionals category) and Sancal, a Spanish furniture manufacturing company (awarded in 2024 in the Design and Business category). Suricata Party is part of the Madrid Fiesta Design exhibition programme (from 12 to 23 February at the Institución Libre de Enseñanza).In addition to its innovative proposal as furniture for work spaces, the Suricata desk stands out for the use of digital printing technology on Fibraplast boards. by Finsa to faithfully capture the creative patterns designed by Sancal.

ARCHETYPES: FURNITURE FOR WELL-BEING

From 3 to 28 February, MATCOAM will host the ARQUETIPOS exhibition as part of the MADRID OFF programme. This exhibition shows the intersection of architecture with other disciplines such as industrial design and furniture design. Specifically, we provide material for the creation of the Catrina armchair proposal, made within the Tender industrial design line, designed by the Izaskun Chinchilla studio with the Infinite Tricoya outdoor board . The collaboration with Izaskun Chinchilla also extends to the piece called Fossil Chair that will be displayed at Fiesta Design, at the Institución Libre de Enseñanza.

WEAVING SUSTAINABILITY

On February 14th starting at 10am at the Institución Libre de Enseñanza, the workshop Weaving Sustainability will be held with students from the School of Architecture and Design of IE University . In this workshop, which is part of the MADRID OFF program, basket maker Idoia Cuesta will guide a creative process in which the creative possibilities of our wood veneer will be explored to shape headdresses using textile craftsmanship and basketry techniques.

DESIGN À TROIS: COMPANY, COMMUNITY OF MADRID AND DESIGNERS

Between February 17 and 18, we participated by promoting conversations in the Madrid Fiesta Design Design à trois event, which encourages direct collaboration between companies, designers and the Community of Madrid.
