How can we bring warmth and personality to large spaces?
We analyse an interior design project in which the adaptability and behaviour of the material is the central feature.

This newly built house has an area of more than 300 square metres and is divided into many large bright rooms. The challenge of the interior design project, led by Ana Ibáñez of AZ Diseño, was to give personality and warmth to this house. One of the most characteristic features of this studio is the use of skin-type coatings. How did you apply this technique to achieve your objective?
“Open spaces can be beautiful, but if you fail with the choice of materials they can become cold and impersonal. The challenge was to give these spaces personality. That's why we wanted to give it the warm touch of wood and we chose Rock & Roll Roble Niágara”, explains interior designer Ana Ibáñez. Wood is the common thread of this project and makes everything coherent. “This material forms a skin that makes the whole house unified”, says Ibáñez.
Rock & Roll Roble Niágara appears in small or large brushstrokes depending on the needs of each space. It is the protagonist when it comes to the backbone of the construction, namely the double-height staircase located at the entrance of the house. It is also used on the walls of kitchens, living rooms and bedrooms. In addition, it has been used for the structure and the interiors of furniture.
Why did you choose this material? “We were looking for a coating that had character. At first we thought of natural wood, but when we saw this Finsa product, it was clear: we liked it both aesthetically and due to the contrast it offered. In addition, the fact that it was a preconfigured product gave us the assurance that it would age well”, said Ana Ibáñez. “We work a lot with Finsa materials because the aesthetic aspect is very well achieved and there is a wide variety. On the other hand, knowing that it is an established brand with many years behind it gives us a guarantee”, she argues.
And, as if that were not enough, this project has won the award for Best project carried out outside the region of Murcia by a professional from the region in the Interior Design Awards of the Region of Murcia.
