The project consisted of replacing the burners of the thermal balance generators that support the cogeneration facility and the biomass boiler, in cases of high heat demand from different industrial processes: wood shredding, fibre drying, board production and board coating. The old oil-fired burners were replaced by new generation natural gas burners (Sugimat 1 and 2), and the MSM-MAY burner was upgraded. This made it possible to maintain the power ratings at similar values to the original ones so as not to lose capacity, but using natural gas and improving both performance and the ability to work at lower partial loads.
The investment has been carried out at the Finsa factory in Padrón, within the framework of the line of aid for energy saving and efficiency in SMEs and large companies in the industrial sector, co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), coordinated by the IDAE and managed by INEGA, under the National Energy Efficiency Fund.
Results in terms of energy savings and efficiency:
• Thermal savings per fuel of 259,190.72 kWh/year and 22.29 toe/year
• Reduction of CO2 emissions equivalent to 157.53 t CO2/year
Investment: € 277,514.08
Financing: €71,706.78
