“THE BEST OF THE PROJECT? HOW THE LIGHT BOUNCES OFF THE VARNISHED BOARDS AND TINTS THE OFFICES GOLD, GETTING A WONDERFUL WARMTH”
MARIANO MARTÍN, MARIANO STUDIO.
To mean a place as apparently unattractive as a warehouse and a characteristic element that went unnoticed: the cardboard drums where the company serves the product. With these two concepts, MARIANO Estudio devised the new offices of the Grupo JUSTE pharmaceutical company.
The new offices had to integrate all the professional profiles around the same space, so it was necessary to create a cohesive element. They found it in the cardboard. “It was the clear starting point as the drums of this material are something so characteristic of the company”, explains Mariano Martín, architect of the studio.
On a technical level, this cardboard was replaced by MDF boards "with much more guarantees of stability and duration, and by adding the varnish we achieved adequate protection against fire", argues Martín.
What was the result of this approach? “An office with optimal light made with a modest wood. Much with little!” Martin answers. Another aspect that stands out from the study is the light.
The lamps project 60% of the light towards the workstations and the rest towards the ceiling, "so that when they bounce off the varnished boards they are dyed gold, achieving a wonderfully warm space," they conclude from the study.
